why do you people bother getting a pet snake if you dont care for it like your supposed to?
just on here ALONE there are so many simple questions a knowledgable snake owner, handler should know. i think its very sad that people get a snake or for that matter any animal and not research the animal before it is bought. this is why so many snakes and other animals end up dying for NO REASON. it is truly sad the irresponsibility of these people. im starting to think that it should be mandatory to pass a test and get a liscense to get/own a pet before the pets are sold. this would save countless lives of innocent animals.
animals arent humans but they do have feelings and do feel pain, and discomfort. im sick of seeing animals suffer due to the stupidity of the owner. so to those who dont properly care for their animals i hope you suffer in life as much as you have made your pet suffer.
yes i made a statement to include all animals its in there! but yes your 10000000% correct.
thus far i agree with you all, and this wasnt aimed at any particular person, (unidentified person.) all mishandlers in general.

I think this goes for pretty much every kind of animal.
because people don’t research the animal first…. and you’re right people should suffer even more than how their animal suffered
It is rude, personally I research every animal before I buy it.
And yet any idiot can become a parent. Go figure, huh? I do feel your resentment for irresponsible pet purchasers, who jump into something without knowing the entire picture, and end up killing/discarding animals they never should have gotten in the first place, but licensing such as you’d like would require me to give up too many of the precious few rights I retain as an american, sorry I cannot back that idea. Come up with as efficient, but less restrictive upon good pet owners, a rule to enact, we’ll be first to sign the petition, and join the march, hear?
I am an RA at a residence hall and one of the programs we put on this year was “get-your-very-own-Betta-fish” and we provided bowls, decorations, food, etc…. We even had everyone sign a contract stating that they could not fight them, that they understood they had to arrange for care of them over winter break, and that they were responsible for taking the fish over the summer. Of the around 150 residents we gave fish, we had at least 30 leave them over winter break and they died (according to our cleaning staff), around half of them never ever changed the water and they died, and at the end of the school year we found eight fishies left behind completely that live in the office now. People are horribly irresponsible. I think especially with Bettas, people see them as mere decoration. It’s also kind of sad that there are cruelty laws for dogs and cats, but none whatsoever for fish.
